MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT, ACADEMICS

Fadumo Mohamed AwadWelcome to BCOHS, a place where knowledge is valued and
skills are enhanced. At BCOHS we try as much as we can to uplift
and enhance the learners’ skills through the provision of quality Education,
Training and Research. This is furthered by the availability of curricula that
integrates the needs of our learners and that of the changing needs of the
society. Our curricula provide the journey required by our learners throughout  their training period. It provides guidance on what should be done by both the
students and instructors throughout the learning period. BCOHS
teaching curricula has been designed in such a way that it meets the national
Curriculum for all universities and colleges. And in accordance with the rules
and regulations of  Higher education, NHPC, and MoH requirement. Learners
undergo both theoretical and practical training that equip them with the

 

relevant knowledge, skills, attitude and aptitude required to meet any sort of challenges in today’s world.

BCOHS is one of the foremost health institutions that rose to prominence with its
establishment from scratch in the year 2005 by the community of Burao, Togdheer. The College strives to
actualize its general vision in its goals i.e. to successfully combine tradition with the demands of modernity.
It aims to do so with the co-operation of its team of specialist staff, with foundations based in knowledge
and practical skills pertaining to the branches of the knowledge of different disciplines. It aims to provide
students with factual and practical knowledge and to enable them by these firm foundations and expertise
to be professionals of different disciplines, able to independently research and be involved in community
service.

In a nutshell, this College Profile acts as a mirror of BCOHS. It reflects exactly what we provide to our learners and the society at large. This is the main reason why BCOHS today referred to as “SOMALILAND’s ICON AND TOWER OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS”
