Quality Assurance

The academic and quality Assurance departments of the college is
responsible for organizing the day-to-day operations and manages
the lecturers, instructors, and other academic staff who work
together to provide students with an education that meets their
needs and interests.

The  academic  dean  manages  and  updates  the  academic
programs to meet curriculum goals. He monitors student behaviors

both inside and outside classrooms. He provides guidance and support to junior academic teem and monitors student attendance and provide an appropriate notifications. Finally he works with the Student unions

The BCOHS Students’ Union (BCOHSUSU) is dedicated to social, organizational activities, representation and academic support of the membership among students. The purpose of the union is to represent fellow students in some fashion. This is run predominantly by students, independent of the educational administration. The purpose of this organization is to represent students both within the institution and externally, including on local and national issues.

The union is also responsible for providing a variety of services to students. Students get involved in the union by becoming active in a committee, by attending councils and general meetings, or by becoming an elected representative. The union further focuses on providing students with facilities, support, and services. Through a series of activities organized by the union, BCOHS students get a chance of developing  their  skills in  several  ways  ranging from  leadership  to  mutual  understanding  among themselves, a phenomena which prepares them to be great leaders of tomorrow.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & CONTROL DEPARTMENT

International concerns have arisen on how to maintain quality control in an environment that increasingly puts pressure on the traditional modes of teaching, research, learning and management in Higher Institutions of Learning. This has forced most developed countries to adopt formal, transparent and credible systems of quality assurance with external verification of outcomes and processes.

The Quality Assurance Office of BCOHS, Burao Campus documents the structure and design of the College’s Quality Management Activities, the interconnectedness of the processes that constitute the system, and the operational arrangements which support the quality assurance activities and academic standards at the College and also controls the quality of the services.

The College Quality Manual is intended as a guide and reference document for all faculty and staff and should be read in conjunction with the College’s policies, regulations, procedures and associated documents which include, but are not limited to, work instructions and guidelines.

Major Aim of the Office of Quality Assurance:

The Main Aim of The Office of Quality Assurance of BCOHS Campus states that:

“To enhance the effectiveness of its core activities of learning, teaching, research performance,
research training and management. The Office has policies that address all areas of the
College’s activities focusing on their contribution to and in alignment with the College’s
Strategic Goals.”

The Mission of The Office of Quality Assurance of BCOHS Campus states that:

“To create, monitor and continuously evaluate academic provision activities (teaching, research and outreach services) that ensure that the quality and the standards of awards of BCOHS are safeguarded, continuously enhanced and effectively managed.”
